“You know, magic and all?” 🌈✨

Nobody said parenting would be easy 🤭 great piece

Thank you so much. Parenting is a lot of work. That’s for sure, but there’s a lot of every day magic in it too!

I’ve believed in fairies since I first saw Hook. You captured that spirit beautifully! 🧚

There’s a reason we keep a fairie garden in our yard. Just sayin’.

Thank you!

We have a gnome on our deck. His name is Shenanigans.

That’s a great name. We have a few little ones around, but I don’t think we ever gave them names though. Speaking of gnomes though, lots of people have that Elf on the Shelf thing. We have a Lazy Gnome. It’s basically the same thing, but it stays in one place so you don’t need to move it every night. So much easier.

As a mom and as a person, I loved this story!!

fantabulous! stupendical! I was panicked right alongside him, but when his wife laughed... uh oh.

I’d been toying with the idea of a parent who believes in the tooth fairy for about a week. I finally came up with the story. Thank you for reading!

so fun. I totally believed the wife.

This feels like the sort of story I could imagine someone telling verbally. There were moments of adding in little details like an honest stray thought without going on a completely tangent which kept it all very organic.

And the little details of the husband's ignorance (and I do not say ignorance in a contemptuous way, he simply did not know) such as putting the shirt to soak in warm water were nice touches.

Also, our tendency to worry that if one thing we didn't believe in was true, then everything else must be true also.

Thank you so much! The details are the most fun to write! Thank you! Wait. I said that already

Words about things and stuff's avatar

Thank you! I thought about that. Easter. Christmas. So much magic out there!

The way the rainbow and the Tooth Fairy story tied into each other felt so charming and heartwarming.

Ohh this was such a lovely way to live in the magic of believing.. I smiled the whole way through 🧡

Words about things and stuff's avatar

Aww thank you! That’s the best compliment!

Oh what a sweet and tender story! 🥰 I would love to read more from the family! 😁

Words about things and stuff's avatar

I hadn’t thought about doing more with the family. It could be fun.

I’m so glad you liked it!

So sweet. I have a little girl who can't wait for the Tooth Fairy to come (and has approximately 0 loose teeth). I'm not ready for that day.

Words about things and stuff's avatar

It’s so much fun! We did a thing at our house to make it slightly easier… for us. Rather than her pillow, we put a small fairy door on one of walls by the floorboard. The Tooth Fairy uses that instead so we don’t have to risk waking her up.

I told my little one that we could build a fairy house for the tooth fairy based on your story, and she’s already sketching ideas. Love this!!

Words about things and stuff's avatar

I love that! I bet it’s going to be amazing!

I loved this. And great song choice. 🧚🏼

Words about things and stuff's avatar

Thank you so much. The song was a bit luck… or magic perhaps. It' happened to play while I was writing and the buildup in it was sort of perfect for how the story was going. Plus I just love the band so there’s that too.

I’m glad you liked it!

Thank me? Oh no, no no. Thank you!

R.S.T.'s avatar

Lol oh no, no, no. Please I insist. Thank you.

Words about things and stuff's avatar

Oh no. I couldn't possibly. But since you insist, thank you for your thank you.
