Right bloody brilliant horror here. The idea of being consumed into the hivemind of the concept of water is so beautiful, original and beyond enjoyable to read. I especially love the narration slowly distorting as even it becomes too water-like to continue original course. Very Junji Ito-esque in the best way. Bravo!!!
I try not to get stuck on the titles, but a lot of the time writing the story is the easy part and I get stuck at the end going, βWait. What do I call it?β
I KNEW it would be horror when no one was drinking coffee π
Perhaps the absence of coffee is a sign of the apocalypse that no one ever really talks about.
This made me feel so dehy⦠whatever the word is.
Thirsty. π
Thank you!
Such an original idea and the horror of it sneaks up and clocks you. Fantastic story!! The opening and closing statements are quite powerful.
Thank you so much!

Oh wow! Thank you for that. Really. Wow.
Of course!! I absolutely mean it. I just didnβt restack the full comment to not spoil it for anybody. Truly an awesome piece.
Water has had enough! Damn. Some amazing twists. Love the image too.
Funny story -- a family friend refuses to drink water. He says, "You have no idea what they do to that water." He only drinks Coke.
Butβ¦. I mean thereβs water in coke too.
Thanks for reading! Iβm so glad you liked it!
Exactly! Not to mention thereβs no telling what they put in Cokes in those factoriesβ¦

The Watering (like the Happening). Love!!
Ah! I should have called it that! Thank you!
First thoughts (and titles) are everything! And you nailed it. Actually inspired me to use this one in a similar vein.

An atmospheric piece of flash fiction - nice environmental horror!
Thank you so much! Iβm glad you liked it!
