This is a great little story, but wait. Didn’t Wincy transform into a butterfly or a moth? The story could have gone further.

He does. This is an earlier section of my larger fantasy series. There are other parts of it up as posts, though they're in no particular order. He's got much more story left.

Thank you so much. One odd bit of world building I invented about caterpillars is what happens when they’re changing. They dream. The thing they dream about sort of determines their futures. Dreams of sunlight and flowers will most likely bring a butterfly. Dreams of moonlight might bring about a moth. Wincey’s dream will be a bit different. He has a very specific destiny.

Ahh, intriguing! Now that you mention it, I’ve heard about this before—they dream their lives into existence. That’s how powerful dreaming, or visualization, really is 🙌

I really love your animal stories! 😁👍🏻 So sweet and beautifully written! 🥰

Thank you so much! Hopefully when they’re all put together as part of the much larger work they’ll all make sense still.

I‘m sure you will manage that and I‘m sure this will be an amazing story! 😁👍🏻

I certainly hope so. Thanks!

Loved it! Did you know that when a caterpillar munches on a plant, the plant releases a chemical into the air which warns nearby plants of the danger? But even cooler than that is that caterpillars are very noisy wee guys, and if you record the caterpillar munching, then take this recording and play it to a plant, the plant will release the chemical even though there is no caterpillar and, AND, plants don't have any ears. What the hell is going on with nature?

That’s fascinating. I didn’t know that about the plants, but I had heard about the noise they make. Thank you for reading and I’m so glad you liked it!
